Made in Europe
This altar linen set combines a green velvet chalice pall with white pieces decorated with gold cross embroidery. The center of the pall features raised embroidery of an IHS monogram surrounded by rays, and gold ornamental scrolls cover its entire surface. The pall's edge is finished with gold fringe lace. Gold cross embroidery is repeated on the corporal, purificator, and lavabo towel, appearing as diagonal crosses in the corporal's corners and as a straight cross centered on the other pieces.
Velvet, Gold Embroidery, and Lace in the Catholic Altar Linen Set
The pall is made of green velvet with internal stiffening and a stain-resistant finish, which makes it easier to keep clean and maintain an attractive appearance. The corporal is sewn from 100% PE polyester fabric. The purificator and lavabo towel are made of cotton. The edges of the corporal, purificator, and lavabo towel are finished with white scalloped cut-out edging.
Four Pieces in the Green Altar Linen Set
- Chalice pall: approximately 6.75 × 6.75 in (17 × 17 cm), green velvet with internal stiffening, raised embroidery of an IHS monogram surrounded by rays, gold ornamental scrolls, gold fringe lace along the edge, and a stain-resistant finish. It is used to cover the chalice during the liturgy.
- Corporal: approximately 18.5 × 18.5 in (47 × 47 cm), made of 100% PE polyester fabric, with gold diagonal cross embroidery in the corners and white scalloped cut-out edging. It is spread on the altar beneath the chalice and paten.
- Purificator: approximately 18.5 × 9.5 in (47 × 24 cm), cotton, with an embroidered gold cross in the center and white scalloped cut-out edging. It is used to wipe the chalice and paten during the liturgy.
- Lavabo towel: approximately 18.5 × 9.5 in (47 × 24 cm), cotton, with an embroidered gold cross in the center and white scalloped cut-out edging. It is used to dry the celebrant's hands during the lavabo rite.
When to Use the Green Altar Linen Set
The green liturgical color is used on Sundays and weekdays during Ordinary Time, the longest season of the church year. The velvet chalice pall coordinates well with green vestments and gold and gold-plated chalices. The altar linen set is packed in a gift box with a clear window, making it suitable as a gift for a priest, parish, or religious community.
